York Day 2

semi-overcast 18 °C

The morning was wet and breezy. After a lovely breakfast we took an Uber and headed into Old Town of York.
We were on a free 2 hour guided walking tour of parts of York and as the rain came down we were enlightened to some history of York.
Kings Manor, St Marys Abbey, York Minster and Treasurers house were some of the sites we ventured past.
The rain lifted and we continued for a few hours being guided around back streets and other sites.
After the tour ended and we'd had some lunch, we headed for the Jorvik Viking centre. This is an archaeological dig that has uncovered Viking relics and housing from many years ago. Explanations as well as relics and a great seated tour of an era gone by was fantastic as it is all based on findings by historians and archaeologists.
A pub stop for a beer and then a donut stop before heading back to our digs for a rest before dinner.
York is a lovely place with lots of history, building's and infrastructure to keep you interested and entertained.
